Fighting Fatigue - The Natural Way

Fatigue can get to just about everybody at one time or another, other than throw down 1 more espresso or cam of cola what are some of the natural alternatives?

When we say fatigue here, we are not talking about chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia or one of the other sever illnesses we are discussing a general loss of energy. (Although some of these things below can help alleviate the symptoms of those diseases).

Obviously, two of the biggest culprits are poor diet and lousy sleep patterns,here are some energy releasing supplements and advice;

Carnitine: Carnitine is an amino acid that helps transport fuel into your mitochondria (the energy producing engines in your cells). It also removes waste from your cells, keeping them in a fit state. Try around 500 milligrams twice per day. Carnitine also assists with fat loss!

Coenzyme Q10: Also known as ubiquinone. This little fellow actually helps your cells make the fuel that creates your energy. Cq10 is found throughout your body especially in your heart and gums - try around 30mgs twice a day with meals. This is a very safe supplement to take!

Magnesium: This is an awesome mineral, essential for energy production, heart health and muscle contraction - it also assists with good sleep. Take 250-500mgs twice a day.

Multi vitamin or B vitamin: B vitamins are essential for energy production, they also increase your ability to digest carbohydrates and assist in coping with stress!

Omega 3's - Fish Oil: I take 3000mgs, that's 3 grams per day, but you can benefit from as little as 1000mgs. While getting your Omega 3's from fish is great, it isn't always easy. The capsule form works just fine.

These essential fatty acids help protect your heart and arteries - better blood flow = more energy, they are also extremely important for healthy brain function. As a side benefit, essential fatty acids can improve the quality of your skin, reduce body fat & fight mild depression, buy some now people!

Water: You are over 70% water and even a few percent dehydration can rob you vital energy. Try drinking a glass or two of cold water when you feel a bit run down, it works wonders.

Food: Eat several small nutrient dense meals a day and avoid overdoing caffeine and EVIL WHITE SUGAR. Eat protein at each meal, protein causes alertness in your brain, while carbs like pasta, rice & potato can make you sluggish and sleepy!

Sleep: Yes you need your 8+ hours per day. If your missing out try to get a cat nap during your lunch break or - have a shot at 10-15 mins of meditation, this can recharge your grey matter!

Exercise: Yep, it's time to get off the couch, or do push-ups on it! As little as a 10 minute walk can increase your energy, get your body and mind kick started and assist with digestion after a meal!
